Weber RFID Solutions
When retail giant Wal-Mart and the U.S. Department of Defense announced that they were demanding the use of RFID by January 2005, we went straight to work.
Weber knows that much of the initial growth of RFID will be linked to “smart label” technology, which combines the benefits of bar code labeling with the functionality of RFID by embedding an ultra-thin antenna in the label material for the purposes of transmitting a range of product data.
To make certain that our customers are ready to meet these new RFID specifications, we now provide a number of solutions. Our special label printers and printer-applicators encode data on RFID labels and tags, while simultaneously printing text, bar codes and graphics.
In addition, we also supply system-compatible reject systems to identify and segregate any improperly encoded tags. Of course, Weber offers smart labels for use in our own RFID printers, plus a range of pre-encoded labels and tags to satisfy associated identification applications.
The rapid emergence of RFID mandates seems daunting, but it’s an exciting new opportunity to improve the way all of industry captures and uses product data throughout the supply chain. We are working very hard to ensure that our customers will have a dependable source on the leading edge of RFID development.
