Custom Integrated Systems
We have created exclusive label materials that endure the harsh conditions found in the chemical, electrical, and lumber industries. For situations that present unique labeling and coding obstacles, our engineering staff has designed systems that include special material handling equipment, distinct label printing and application systems, as well as custom software packages.
This custom system features two air-blow Model 2138S systems printing and applying two bar code labels to adjacent corners of a corrugated box. The box receives the first label and moves down the conveyor, where it is rotated 90°, and then receives the second label. A scanner attached to the conveyor then reads the bar code, sounding an alert if the bar code has not been printed properly.

This application required applying a pre-printed UPC bar code label on flat boxes in a manner that would later allow for easy folding and filling. First, the boxes are fed onto a vacuum conveyor one at a time, where they move past Webers 2111 air-blow, high-speed label applicator. Once the labels have been applied, the conveyor shingles the boxes, allowing them to quickly move to the assembly area.

To create a system that could label pallets of varying sizes, Webers engineers attached a Model 2138S label printer-applicator to a motorized stand. An attached sensor stops the stand when the desired height has been reached. The 2138S then prints and tamp blows the shipping label into place, utilizing a 24" stroke.

Applications in especially harsh conditions often require a custom system. In order to protect the system from excessive dust and debris, this Model 5200 label printer-applicator is encased in a plexiglas and stainless steel box, with an opening at the bottom. As the product moves by on a conveyor, the Model 5200 prints and applies the label to the unfilled bag.
