Food Labeling Systems

For high-speed, automatic labeling and RFID encoding, Weber carries a full line of label printer-applicators and preprinted label applicators. Single, multi-sided, corner and wraparound solutions are available for all types of carton and product labeling.

These systems can handle a wide range of pressure-sensitive and RFID smart label sizes. Plus, they offer various non-contact and gentle-contact application methods, all accurate to within ±0.03".

Our high-speed standard applicators apply labels at rates of up to 2,000 linear inches of label web per minute, while our self-contained printer-applicators come with a choice of print engines that are capable of delivering labels at speeds up to 16" per second.

To print labels off-line, our diverse collection of high-performance thermal/thermal-transfer label printers and RFID encoders can accommodate labels and tags from .5" wide up to 9" wide. Models are available with 203-, 300- or 600-dpi capabilities and offer throughput rates from 2" to 12" per second.

Our exclusive Legitronic^® Labeling software is the cornerstone of each Weber labeling system. Compatible with many other database, design and word processing applications, this advanced, 32-bit package can quickly access files for Nutrition Facts, ingredient, retail, shipping compliance and other label formats, including RFID encoding.

Legitronic software also comes equipped with all popular bar code symbologies – such as the I 2 of 5 Shipping Container Code and UPC/EAN Code 128 – plus a selection of TrueType fonts that meet today’s compliance specifications.

We manufacture custom and prime pressure-sensitive labels and tags at our manufacturing facility in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Using state-of-the-art flexographic presses, we can produce labels in up to 10 colors, including process color with exceptional photographic quality. And we convert our own RFID smart labels using inlays from leading manufacturers.

With more than 100 different label/adhesive combinations to choose from, Weber carries materials for every application within the food industry – from general shipping labels to more durable film labels that tolerate exposure to heat, moisture, flash freezing and abrasive elements.

Weber also supplies compatible thermal-transfer ribbons that provide high-density printing and excellent bar code scannability.
